El 13 de noviembre del a\u00f1o 2006 fue liberada la versi\u00f3n de Linux Mint, apodada como \u201cB\u00e1rbara\u201d, distribuci\u00f3n que est\u00e1 basada en Debian y Ubuntu, la cual busca ser un sistema operativo moderno, elegante y c\u00f3modo, adem\u00e1s de potente y f\u00e1cil de usar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linux Mint fue creado por Clemente Lefebvret, Jamie Boo Birse y Kendall Weave, y se enfoca en hacer el escritorio m\u00e1s usable y eficiente para las tareas diarias realizadas por usuarios regulares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La primera versi\u00f3n de Linux Mint fue 1.0, bautizada con el nombre \u201c ADA\u201d, la cual no era estable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Es importante resaltar, que este sistema operativo no sigue un ciclo predecible de lanzamientos, sino que los plantea uno tras del otro. En cada caso, el proyecto define primero los objetivos del pr\u00f3ximo lanzamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
De esta manera, cada versi\u00f3n que desarrollan es denominada con un nombre femenino acompa\u00f1ado del n\u00famero de versi\u00f3n. Como dato curioso, los nombres llevan un orden alfab\u00e9tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
En la actualidad la versi\u00f3n disponible es Tessa 19.1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
